Taileaf · Appendix
Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
What you record belongs to you. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it is protected, and the rights you hold. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service, and nothing more.
1. What we collect
Account information: the identifier that Sign in with Apple gives us, and your name and email address if you choose to share them.
Content you record: the notes you write about your pet, photos you upload, and health entries such as vaccines and medications.
Essential device and log data: basic technical information used to keep the service secure and to diagnose problems.
2. How we use it
Only to provide the service to you: storing and displaying your records, syncing them among family members you authorize, and organizing them at your request.
AI features: when you ask Taileaf to organize something, we send that content to a third-party AI model provider to produce the result. The app tells you this where the feature is offered.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell your data to anyone.
3. Storage and retention
Your content and account data are stored by us in a United States region, in a deployment separate from our China service. Data does not move between the two deployments.
AI features send the content you ask Taileaf to organize to a third-party AI model provider for processing. That provider handles it under its own privacy policy.
Operational metrics and logs go to our monitoring provider. We filter them first. They contain no personal content.
Your data is protected with encryption in transit and access controls. If an incident may affect the safety of your data, we will inform you promptly as required by law.
Full records of AI requests, including the content sent, are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Other personal data is kept only as long as necessary for the stated purpose.
4. System permissions
Location supports places and walk routes; Motion improves walk-state analysis; Camera supports scanning and capture; Microphone supports voice input. Each permission is requested only when the related feature is used.
Photos are selected individually through the system picker; Taileaf does not request full photo-library access.
5. Third-party SDKs and services
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK. It uses Apple frameworks, such as Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and speech recognition.
AI features use a third-party AI model provider. It receives only the content you ask Taileaf to organize.
Operational metrics and logs go to our monitoring provider. We filter them before they leave our servers. They do not contain the content you record.
6. Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:
- with your explicit consent, for example when you invite family members to write in the same book;
- with service providers strictly as needed to run the service, such as cloud hosting and storage, the AI model provider, and the monitoring provider;
- when required by law or by a competent authority following due process.
7. Your rights
You may review, correct, or delete your records in the app at any time. For a copy of your data, contact us.
You may delete your account in the app. Deletion first closes the account and stops all use of it. After that, we permanently delete your personal information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
8. Children
The service is intended for adults. If you are a minor, please use it with the consent and guidance of a guardian.
9. Updates
This policy may be updated from time to time. For material changes we will notify you prominently. Updates take effect on the date of publication.
