Taileaf is an iOS app for recording a pet's whole life — a growing book worth returning to. In China it goes by the name 尾岛记.
Before setting out we settled on a few beliefs: relationship over efficiency, stories over data, trust over growth. None of them are novel; we simply intend to keep them for a long time.
What it is
Jot down the small things as they happen — the first nail trim, the midnight stomach ache, the rainy-day walk taken anyway. The days go by, and keep writing, and it becomes a book that belongs only to the two of you.
It is not about efficiency. Our measure of anything is not whether it is faster, but whether it brings you closer.
Whatever you note down, stays
A sentence, a photo — jot it down and it stays. Photos are chosen one by one through the system picker; we never read your whole library.
A family can keep one book together. Mom took him to the park, you glanced up from your desk, and let the worry go.
A storybook on quiet days, a chart when it's urgent
Vaccines, medications, allergies, labs — gentle to read on an ordinary evening, and clear on a single page at the emergency room. Hand it to the vet; that's enough.
This book is yours
What you write belongs to you. Any entry can be shared with family one at a time, and you can delete your account whenever you like.
We'd rather you stay because you want to, not because you can't leave. A small thing like this deserves to be done slowly, and for a long time.
